Get Out and Give Back – Website Redesign, Phase 1 Completed

February 8th, 2013

Get Out and Give Back LogoI’ve always enjoyed and felt fortunate to work with small business owners who are typically immersed in their businesses (and busy!) and are very interesting and caring people. This description truly fits the founder of Get Out and Give Back, Jane Hess. A retired Air Force Colonel, Jane started Get Out and Give Back, a company dedicated to ‘Connecting People to Create Good’ which helps businesses, employees and individuals get more involved in their communities in ways that are meaningful, important and fun.

Her inspiration came from her dad who for decades, gave 1% of the gross income from his lumberyard in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the poorest village in the western hemisphere. Through exchanging letters from a French nun who lived in Cap-Haitien, he was able to provide that village with running water, electricity, musical instruments and even a school. He also gave locally, by quietly and anonymously helping those in need in Bellefontaine. He passed away in 2007, a week before Christmas, leaving a legacy, however anonymous, of giving. Now it’s Jane’s turn and she’s here to help us all get involved in a way that speaks to each one of us.

Jane’s a very dear friend of mine from my very young Air Force days. I was honored when she called to see if I could assist in providing Get Out and Give Back with a website that would present her message in a professional manner. With an impending deadline, we were able to quickly complete a Phase 1 design of the website which we’ll gradually work on together until complete.
